Happy Tuesday! Instead of independent reading today, I would like you to get together with your partner and continue working on your shared document from yesterday. You will have about 10 minutes to work on this. For those who would like to act out their dialogue to the class, we will have about ten minutes to do so! Remember, the Charles TBQ is due TODAY! :)

Daily Riddle: What belongs to you, but others use it more than you do?


Happy Friday!! We made it through another week! I am sorry that I am not in class today, but I know you will have a great day with Ms. Phillips! Please settle in by independently reading. The library people will still go after attendance. 

Today, you will be completing an assignment on NEWSELA. If you have never signed up for NEWSELA, go to their website and you can sign in using google, to join my class the class code is up on the board! 

The assignment is in Google Classroom. For some reason, it would not let me make a copy for each of you, so you will have to view the file and then COPY, NAME it, MOVE it! Name it NEWSELA Assignment #1 (last name). You also can put it in your last name, first name folder in google classroom. DO NOT FORGET to upload it to Google Classroom. 

You will read three articles and take their quizzes. You should complete the chart in google classroom as you go. After you complete your chart, look at the reminders on the whiteboard. Please make sure you have everything you need turned in! I will begin to enter in more grades to IC this weekend!

If your name is on the board for the Socratic Seminar make-up, the make-up will be Monday during lunch. If I do not have you first or second hour, I will come to one of your morning classes with a pass to my room!

Independent Reading- Finish chapters 16-20 (15 minutes)
Read Aloud of chapters 21-24 (15 minutes)
Work time: Think, Pair, Share.

Directions

1. I will read aloud and post a question
2. 1s and 2s will pair up, and 3s and 4s will pair up to answer this question (5 minutes)
3. THEN, as a group you will discuss your answer. If it helps, someone at your table can jot down notes. (5 minutes)
4. The 1s of the table will then share out.

As an exit ticket: I will be passing around a post it, you will put your name, and rate yourself 1-4 of how well you think you participated today and WHY. BE HONEST!


At the end of Chapter 24, Dr. Spivak says to Max:
